ChairpersonMembers of the Board

This rule sets out where to find the financial and employment details for the leadership of the Data Protection Board of India. The Board is the official body created to enforce the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Under this rule, the Chairperson and every other Member of the Board are entitled to specific compensation. Their exact salary and allowances are not listed in this specific rule, but are instead written down in the Fifth Schedule of the rules. Beyond just their pay, the Fifth Schedule also contains all the other terms and conditions of their service. This means that anyone looking to understand the employment rules, benefits, or working conditions for the Chairperson and the Members must refer directly to the Fifth Schedule.

Key points

  • The salary and allowances for the Chairperson and every other Member are specified in the Fifth Schedule.
  • All other terms and conditions of service for these individuals are also set out in the Fifth Schedule.

Interpretation prepared from the official text only, 9 September 2026. The official text above prevails.
